Job Description

Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier.  Maintain necessary files and documentation.  Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, metering machines, etc. and primarily use hand trucks to move materials around.  Typical shipping activities include:  checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes.  May occasionally perform activities related to the receiving materials  such as unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations.  May require operation of a forklift truck.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer literacy required. 
  • Strong spreadsheet and database experience a plus.
  • Good organizational and communication skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and coach people is also required.

Additional Information

  • 5-7 years experience in shipping and receiving function
  • Proven ability to manage inventory required
  • Internal Inventory Exp (SAP) required.
  • Ability to operate multiple PIV including sit down and reach truck
  • Previous print/bindery or manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Previous administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience in a direct mail facility, preferred
  • Lead experience

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $15.00 - $17.00 / hour.  The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime.
