Senior Software Engineer

Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join them. You will report to the Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule at our business unit, Genesys AeroSystems, located in Mineral Wells, TX. Genesys AeroSystems delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

 

To be considered for the Senior Software Engineer, you will need to bring with you: 

  • Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degrees.
  • 5 years or more engineering software development experience, including software for complex avionics systems.
  • Willing travel domestically and internationally up to 20% to support projects.
  • Experience with Software Development for avionics and flight control systems.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle dictated by FAA guidelines for certifying flight software.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, OpenGL or similar, Real-Time Embedded Systems, Linux, Matlab, LabVIEW, Perl, Python.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and compliance in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with process development, documentation, and implementation.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aviation industry experience and familiarity with FAA certification preferred.

 

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Genesys Aerosystems engineering team, you will:

  • Drive the technical development of advanced avionics and flight control systems.
  • Be in the development of our next generation electronic flight displays and the graphics for those systems
  • Research, develop, design, and test software for components, products, and systems
  • Review and evaluate product requests from customer and formulate conceptual design to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
  • Develop software for advanced avionics and flight control systems.
  • Develop new testing applications or modify existing tools to support integration activities.
  • Apply knowledge of FAA avionics and software certification process during the design of products.
  • Perform software/system integration activities to verify proper functionality of new designs.
  • Support flight testing of our products.
  • Create technical documentation
  • Develop Product Acceptance Test Procedures for production to verify proper functionality of products.
  • Conduct research and prepare reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
  • Provide leadership to engineering design teams.

Salary Range and Pay Disclaimer:

The base pay range for this opportunity is $79,995 - $130,702 per year. This salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include a profit share bonus, employee stock purchase plan, a flexible paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
