A core part of the PRUSA Commercial Sales organization, the Chains Division is responsible for directing and driving all commercial activity for key national accounts, across both the off- and on-premise. This includes well-known national chains like Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Target, Olive Garden, Caesars Resorts, and Hilton Hotels. In addition, the Chains team also manages the US Military business.

Position Summary:

The Division Finance Director, Chains position is a critical role responsible for leading the business planning and analysis function with the goal of supporting the company to outperform the market.

The incumbent will be responsible for working with the Chain Sales and Marketing teams to build the Chains plan designed to deliver annual net sales and volume targets as well as the subsequent monitoring of business performance to identify risks and opportunities and to course correct during the fiscal year.

The Director will further serve as a key enabler for an agile and collaborative Chains organization and will function as a thought partner while providing support to the General Manager, US Chain Customers.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a key member of the Chains leadership team and interface between HQ, Revenue Growth Management (RGM) and regional field management teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Sales VPs, Marketing Directors and Customer Solutions Directors
  • Work in team environment with both Chains leadership and Division leadership teams to streamline planning and forecasting processes and elevate critical financial and operational issues.

Integrated Business Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to drive business priorities of the Chains Division through the plan
  • Own the Chains Financial Planning process:
    • Account depletion and net net sales budget setting (inclusive of Division pricing impacts)
    • A&P budgets and alignment to HQ priorities and master programs
  • Forecasting through the year to reflect changing trading conditions and shifting strategic and operational priorities

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Establish Chains business performance monitoring and management cadence. Oversee and coordinate related processes and meetings.
  • Own production of Chains financial and management reports, e.g. Monthly P&L, Monthly Business Review
  • Oversee preparation and monthly performance analysis of our Brands / Channels / Accounts highlighting key drivers of the results and delivering insights that will direct the decisions taken to drive future performance
  • Work closely with Customer Solutions leadership team to synthesize financial and commercial analysis
  • Input and respond to HQ and Division requests relating to Chains performance (Overall, by Account, by Market, by Brand etc.)

Sales & Operations Planning:

  • Provide centralized support to Sales organization in relation to operational/execution tracking and reporting services
  • Own and oversee Chains innovation (new item) forecasting and tracking processes and tools
  • Partner with key distributor counterparts to drive towards best practice in relation to incentive setting and management and execution reporting

Budget Management:

  • Deliver the Annual Budget Plan (Channel / Account / Brand / State) - lead planning process and management routine for plan submission to CODI and HQ planning team (brand and BP&A)
  • Manages annual chain budget for A&P and T&E as well as performance tracking for chains, channel, brands, markets and distributors.
  • Responsible for updating senior management team on all aspects of budgets & forecasts providing insights & financial recommendations communicated in a clear articulate manner
  • Work closely with HQ and Field Division Finance Directors to drive efficiencies and gain commercial/strategic alignment and collaboration

Process Improvement and Change Management:

  • Identify and drive change in relation to Finance and S&OP processes and tools as well as wider Chains ways of working
  • Leverage new planning tools (e.g. Exceedra) to step-change Chains planning capabilities and outputs
  • Work with HQ teams to migrate key reports to PowerBI

Team Management:

  • Lead, develop and inspire a best in class Chains FP&A organization (4 direct reports total)
  • Develop team capabilities and provide training

Key requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a plus.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10+ years relevant leadership experience in Commercial Planning & Analysis and Finance roles.
  • Dedicated experience in leading change management processes with individual teams and company-wide initiatives.
  • Highly analytical, with ability to use the power of facts and knowledge to bring insights that challenge and influence the business.
  • Exceptional commercial analysis and ability to make clear commercial decisions and finance recommendations.
  • Ability to understand market dynamics and be able to clearly articulate strategic priorities for the business from both a finance & commercial perspective.
  • Solid project management skillset - Able to build and deliver professional, succinct presentations to tell the story; describe project or analysis proposals, results, and recommended actions.
  • Excellent organizational skills - structured approach and capable of managing competing numerous work streams simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels. Adaptive to different audiences.
  • Demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity; always seeking new approaches and challenging the organization to new levels of success.

Working Conditions:

General Office: Work is performed in a typical office environment. Limited demands for movement and lifting. Normal visual, hearing and language acuity required for correspondence and computer usage.

Travel: 30% estimate
