The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Transportation Department is seeking a part-time Project Engineer, full-time Program Manager, or full-time Senior Program Manager to provide planning and technical expertise in support of expediting critical surface transportation projects (e.g., roadway, tollway, transit, bicycle, pedestrian) in the region. The individual in this position will also support the Integrated Transportation and Storm-water Infrastructure (TSI) project, a regional effort to review floodplain regulations for counties that share watersheds. This posting is for the full-time Senior Program Manager. Applicants wishing to be considered for this position should apply online at . Due to the pandemic, the North Central Texas Council of Governments is currently permitting employees to work a hybrid schedule that consists of the equivalent of a minimum of two days per week in the NCTCOG offices in Arlington, Texas, and three days remotely from home within the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating the appropriate identification and evaluation of alternative alignments and transportation modes
  • Working with universities, contractors, federal and State agencies on comprehensive storm-water initiatives
  • Working with partner agencies to advance project delivery
  • Participating in public involvement activities
  • Overseeing the review of and conducting highly technical analyses
  • Overseeing coordination with appropriate transportation partners and resource agencies
  • Preparing and reviewing correspondence, documentation, articles, executive summaries, and reports for distribution to external community groups, external partner agencies, boards of directors, commissioners' courts, city councils, agency technical committees, the Regional Transportation Council, and the public
  • Delivering oral presentations

Required Skills
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with civil engineering principals and design
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the federal National Environmental Policy Act process, desired

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in analytical, quantitative methods is required
  • At least seven years of job-related experience
  • Professional Engineer license or Engineer-in-Training certificate is preferred, but not required

FLSA: Exempt

Salary

Minimum of $125,407.03 - $150,488.44 annually
