A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

As a Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager, you provide valuable support to our senior project manager while helping our jobs proceed smoothly. You are entrusted to manage various land development projects by creating scope and budgets. Collaborating with other design team members, you direct the civil site design and review landscape architecture plans. With careful attention to detail, you analyze proposed site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, and utilities.

Your project management duties entail frequent communication with contractors, local government officials, and clients. As their key point of contact, you keep clients in the loop during all phases of the project. During the conceptual design stage, the regulatory review process, and the construction phase, you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and provide exceptional service throughout. As an engaged and committed supervisor, you offer guidance to staff as you review work products and monitor quality control. You find satisfaction in seeing landscape architecture ideas become a reality, and you take pride in a job well done!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as civil engineering or landscape architecture OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in land development, including experience with site planning, utilities, drainage, quality control, and site entitlement
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Willingness to occasionally travel overnight

An engineer-in-training (EIT), landscape architect (LA), or professional engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred for this project management role.
