Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the continued development, coordination, and administration of the MATHESON corporate sustainability program. Focus on continuous improvement of industrial conservation fundamentals - e.g., energy & water efficiency, and waste management - while bringing new ideas, market offerings, and alternative technologies into the business for the benefit of MATHESON customers.

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage the corporate sustainability KPI reporting.

Support continuous improvement toward sustainability targets by managing efficiency projects through the MATHESON Lean Six Sigma program.

Implement and support parent-company requests & initiatives, including new Scope 3 reporting.

Support in-person and desktop audits of sustainability data validation.

Work with Marketing Team on materials for inclusion on corporate web sites, newsletters, special promotions, and press releases.

Work with internal and external subject matter experts to create training materials.

Create and maintain a database of key topics asked in sustainability surveys.

Ensure customer requests for sustainability surveys and data are vetted.

Maintain a corporate list of sustainability related commitments made to customers, and ensure any agreed reporting is completed.

Work with Utility Management group on [v]PPA opportunities, or alternate feedstocks.

Coordinate with Contract Management, Sales, and Legal Teams to ensure risks are managed per executive guidelines on customer requests and contracts.

Investigate, evaluate, and report on market trends in areas like renewable energy, carbon capture, energy & water stress/conservation.

Collect and analyze data to create regular reports and communication about sustainability practices and the status of the goals outlined by senior management.

Monitor & analyze changes in industry regulations, governmental legislation, and company policies for impact on the sustainability program.

Gather industry benchmarks & best practices.

Maintain data library of agreed factors and conversions used for reporting from recognized research websites, industry user groups, and government sources.

May include other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Qualifications, and Special Requirements:

Safety and Quality Focus.

Ability to effectively coordinate Team and task force functions.

Ability to perform quantitative & qualitative trade-off reviews for presentation to management.

Proficient in technical writing and presentation materials.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations for trending and relevant sustainability topics.

Working understanding of applicability & data from EPA, EIA, IEA, WRI, SBTi, and GHG Protocol.

High competence with Microsoft Office software suite required.

Experience with Microsoft Power BI, or similar data analytics tools preferred.

Advanced skills in managing datasets and interacting with enterprise systems preferred.

Lean Six Sigma training/certification a plus.

Work Environmental & Physical Demands:

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

Role will be performed primarily in a corporate office environment. Role may also be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive to performing the role and duties, including video meetings.

Role will require extensive daily usage of a computer, and other office equipment.

Perhaps 10% domestic travel as part of role.

Must be able to wear proper PPE for tasks - e.g. glasses, masks, gloves, etc.

Must pass background check and drug test.

Must sign NDA.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, utility management, compliance, or other sustainability related field.

Experience working in a corporate-driven sustainability program.
