Overview

The Radiology Equipment Specialist II position is an intermediate level position. Working largely independently, the Radiology Equipment Specialist II performs and properly documents scheduled maintenance, complex repairs, and other inspections on a wide range of medical equipment, with a focus on complex medical imaging systems. Some examples of complex medical imaging systems are: Molecular Imaging, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Vascular/Interventional Labs, etc. In addition to work done on complex medical imaging systems, the Radiology Equipment Specialist II will also mentor junior Radiology Equipment Specialist on the repair and maintenance of all other medical imaging systems. Equipment is located at multiple locations throughout the CMH Health System therefor, some travel is required. This position will also support a limited scope of general Biomedical equipment. The Radiology Equipment Specialist II may also be called upon as a subject matter expert for the purposes of capital equipment planning.

Responsibilities
    Test and calibrate a diverse group of sophisticated medical imaging equipment systems (Scheduled Maintenance) ?
  • Troubleshoot a diverse group of sophisticated medical imaging equipment systems in a clinical setting and/or bench/depot setting (Corrective Maintenance) ?
  • Test and calibrate a variety of general medical equipment systems (Scheduled Maintenance) ?
  • Troubleshoot a variety of general medical equipment systems in a clinical setting and/or bench/depot setting (Corrective Maintenance) ?
  • Perform and document equipment incoming acceptance inspections ?
  • Provide technical data and expert opinion in support of technology risk assessment, capital planning, asset life-cycle management and incident investigations
  • Train and mentor junior technicians in support of their professional growth
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or Related Field and 1-2 years experience Direct medical imaging service or
  • Other Technical Certificate in Biomedical Equipment Service, Electronics, or Related Field and 1-2 years experience Direct medical imaging service or
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience Direct medical imaging service
  • DRIV LIC KS Licensed Driver KS Only state of residence Driver License required Required Upon Hire
  • DRIV LIC MO Licensed Driver MO Only state of residence Driver License required Required Upon Hire
  • AAMI Credentials Institute - CRES Required 1 Year
  • CompTIA A+ Required 90 Days
  • CompTIA Net+ Required 1 Year
  • Formal training - Two or more General Imaging Equipment Types, i.e., Portables, Ultrasound, Digital X-Ray, etc. Preferred Upon Hire
  • Formal training - Two or more Advanced Imaging Equipment Types, i.e., Interventional, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, etc. Preferred Upon Hire
Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $27.02/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
