Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder's Dallas, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineering Staff Engineer to provide design and construction engineering & consulting services. The candidate will design and grow into leading a variety of projects across the Commercial, Public, Oil & Gas, Power, and Mining business sectors. This is also a hybrid work schedule!
The Staff Engineer is an essential role in advancing Kleinfelder's design consulting services in the public, oil and gas, mining, industrial, power, and commercial markets regionally and across the country. The candidate will be expected to progress into a leadership/mentorship role within the civil engineering team. Expectations include coordinating with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver on schedule and on budget exceptional consulting services.
Desired leadership skills and technical experience in Civil Engineering include:
    Technical expertise in Civil Engineering design including utility, grading/earthworks, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, permitting, constructability evaluations
  • Collaboration with Regional leadership and Project Managers to manage resources and project delivery
  • Progressively manage multi-disciplined projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Pro-actively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Candidates are required to have 5 to 8 years of experience (Master's Degree can substitute for one year of experience) in Civil Engineering as follows:
  • Ability to function both independently and as a part of a multi-office team using online coordination tools
  • Ability to engage in multiple projects to deliver successful projects meeting client and Kleinfelder expectations for delivery including quality, scope, schedule and budget
  • Periodic site visits (travel) is required throughout construction activities to address problems and develop solutions real-time.
  • Candidate should develop strong client relationships through project focused meetings.
Additional requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) is required with the ability to register in the State of Texas within 6 months.
  • Experience with Civil 3D/AutoCAD/earthwork computations/Stormwater modeling software is preferred.
