Builders FirstSource (BFS) is embarking on a multi-year business transformation that will enable us to outperform our competition and enable industry transformation. In connection with this initiative, BFS will harmonize our core operations on SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.

The Senior Engineer is the internal BFS technology lead will oversee the technology and innovation efforts on below set of solutions.

  • SAP S/4HANA, SAP business technology platform, Workforce
  • SAP Commerce, SAP digital Supply
  • SAP Integrated Business Planning
  • SAP Ariba - Sourcing and supplier management, contract management and compliance, purchase order management and processing, spend analytics and reporting.
  • SAP Concur - Travel booking and management, expense reporting and reimbursement, invoice management and payment, compliance and policy enforcement, analytics, and reporting.
  • SAP Intelligent Capture by OpenText - Automated capture of invoice data, integration with SAP and Non-SAP systems, data validation and verification, automated workflows and approvals, analytics and reporting.
  • SAP Archiving & Document Access by OpenText - Secure and compliant storage, retention, search and retrieval of procurement related documents, automated retention policies and legal holds, integration across SAP and Non-SAP systems, and analytics and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The individual will provide advice on technical aspects of system development and integration and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are applied correctly. Understand and advocate the Enterprise Architecture and information technology strategies.
  • Ability to establish solid working with functional teams to understand the functional requirements and plan technology architecture and solutions in line with SAP best practices. Ability to identify solution gaps and develop gap closure options. Strong analytical skills, results oriented and effectiveness in problem-solving. Ability to present complex information to leadership and colleagues in a clear and appealing manner.
  • Work with basis team to tune the memory/CPU parameters for jobs & online traffic.
  • Design and implementation of on prem and cloud operation procedures, automation, and monitoring (messages, adapter logs, adapter engine status, communication channels etc.) for SAP and other private cloud technologies.
  • Work with Security team on any authorization object development and review
  • Work closely with SI partners, and make sure the SI partner adheres to BFS coding standards and policies in line with SAP best practices.
  • Typically leads projects from end-to-end through delegation, review, and driving results holistically; leads medium complexity features from technical design through completion. Typically contributes to a defined software engineering roadmap.
  • Contributes to documentation and sharing of knowledge and best practices across teams, both informally and formally (e.g., ad-hoc basis, internal presentations, blogs, newsletters).
  • Manages and partners with third party providers/ vendors/ contractors to ensure project delivery maintains the quality and timeliness standards.
  • Implements and tests complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing software products.
  • Adds enhancements to new/future software releases; and assists in developing design solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of on-premises solutions and cloud-based solutions; executes on cloud based configuration plans for new systems/ technologies.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to the software development lifecycle and best practices in agile engineering.
  • Leads delivery of high-quality design of features and deliverables. Identifies opportunities for multiple products to work together to create value for customers.
  • Integrates product features as it relates to design of the product (market awareness, production adoption, competition) and tracks related metrics.
  • Liaises with business analysts to develop tools and templates for gathering and solving for client/ business requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 4+ years relevant work experience in SAP S/4 Hana Development
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law.
