YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

We are looking for a Dairy Component Technician in 1421 Dixie St, Amarillo, TX 79102-1032 USA. Your mission will be to:

  • Prepare samples for testing including receiving, verify accuracy and data entry of the information.

  • Perform added water samples as directed by sample specifications.

  • Prepare standard controls, verification samples and perform necessary quality control tasks to verify accurate testing of samples.

  • Ensure that instruments are operating properly and samples are analyzed according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • port of results in accordance with client requirements and producers specifications.

  • Maintain equipment in proper operating order and calibrate according to specifications.

  • Prepare materials for daily analysis and store samples when analysis is completed.

  • Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities.

  • Participate in laboratory safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process.

  • This position has the responsibilities and authority to identify departures from the quality system or test procedures and document such observations in accordance with the prescribed complaint system.

  • Perform other related tasks as needed.

YOUR PROFILE

  • A basic knowledge of Infrared Milk Analysis procedures obtained through state licensing procedures in Infrared Milk Analysis techniques.

  • Knowledge of equipment and proper operation of instruments is required to ensure accurate analysis.

  • A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to process client data.

  • A basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and practices is required to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Must be able to speak and write English fluently to effectively communicate with coworkers.

  • Familiarity with the keyboard and basic data entry skills are necessary to enter information into computer system


Work Environment:

The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Mixing of chemicals requires safety equipment including goggles and gloves. Daily lifting of materials weighing 10-40 pounds is required to perform the analysis process. Work hours can vary according to the sample load of that particular day and includes weekends. The incumbent performs repetitive tasks that require long periods of standing. Equipment such as Cyroscope, Foss 4000; 5000; 6000 and a computer terminal are used daily for this position.
