Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in biological sciences strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years lab experience is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- All laboratory personnel will be required to maintain schedule flexibility and when problems arise, may be required to work overtime.
- Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to transcribe information from documents (physical and digital) into various computer systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a Team environment.
- Flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of the lab.
- Ability to anticipate and react to potential complications in the lab.
- Independent judgement for troubleshooting issues.
Lab Specific Qualifications
- Visual acuity (including color discrimination) and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail.
- Ability to tolerate extensive periods seated and/or standing.
- Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
- Ability to lift 30- 50 pounds.
- May have exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment.
- May be required to handle blood-borne pathogens (human specimens, tissues, and bodily fluid).
- DOT, EHS certification or training.
