The Corporate Finance & Pensions Leader will supporting accessing of the capital markets to optimize the capital structure of the company and support the governance and execution of fiduciary responsibilities for the Companies pension assets.

As the Corporate Finance & Pensions Leader will have the following responsibilities for the overall Baker Hughes company:

  • Supporting the Treasurer & Deputy Treasurer in establishing a target capital structure and strategies to optimize cost of capital.
  • Monitoring capital markets and prepare recommendations on debt refinancing and restructuring strategies.
  • Maintaining financial models to calculate WACC for the company and partner with segment finance teams on investment appraisals e.g. Lease v/s buy analysis.
  • Preparing annual and periodical update of debt and capital structure strategy, maintain financial models, and prepare funding plans.
  • Supervising execution of funding and associated hedging transactions (e.g., bond offerings, negotiating bank lines of credit, revolving credit facilities, interest rate derivatives).
  • Establishing a yearly interest expense plan, identify opportunities to reduce interest expense and drive decisions to reduce interest expense.
  • Onboarding financial institutions to repurchase shares, execute share repurchases based on direction from the CFO & Treasurer and provide periodic reporting to drive decisions.
  • Supporting the chair of the Companies investment committee by preparing Investment committee material covering asset allocation policy application, asset manager performance, costs, selection or removal in accordance with 'best in class' fiduciary standards.
  • Supervising analysis performance by investment consultants to identify opportunities to optimize risk and return trade-offs for the pension plans funding level improvements or risk mitigations.
  • Supervising the effective and timely implementation of investment committee decisions.
  • Managing relationships with investment consultants, actuary, and pension trustees.
  • Partnering with HR in developing strategies and execution of plan externalization.
  • Managing relationship with the UK pension plan trustees to monitor performance and support decision making
  • Projecting manage treasury aspects of Business Development (Mergers & Acquisitions).

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Master of Business Administration from an accredited university with focus on Finance is preferred or equivalent knowledge & experience
  • Proven years of experience in a large and complex MNC Corporate Treasury function as well as other finance areas
  • Excellent communication skills in various forms, including verbal, written and presentational
  • Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders, the post holder will need to relate to senior business and finance leaders and senior financial institution personnel
  • Managing relationships; able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people at all levels both internal and external
  • Resilience, there are many pressures within the role which are related to both time and the need to make appropriate decisions within a dynamic environment
