The PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) piping product engineer plays a pivotal role in the development, design, and enhancement of PEX piping systems. This role plays a pivotal role in new product development, as well as ensuring that PEX piping products meet quality standards, perform reliably, and satisfy the needs of both consumers and industry regulations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Research and Development:
    • Conducting research on PEX materials, manufacturing processes, and new technologies.
    • Developing new products or improving existing ones to meet industry standards and consumer needs.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including chemists, designers, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Design and Testing:
    • Designing PEX piping systems or components ensuring durability, efficiency, and safety.
    • Creating prototypes, conducting tests, and analyzing data to validate product performance and reliability.
    • Identifying and resolving any design or performance issues through testing and iteration.
  • Compliance and Standards
    • Ensuring that PEX products comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Staying updated with the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to PEX materials and piping systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Collaborating with sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams to bring products to market.
    • Providing technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Communicating effectively with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance product quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Conducting regular product evaluations and recommending enhancements or modifications.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Creating technical documentation, including specifications, test reports, and product manuals.
    • Generating reports on product development progress, test results, and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering/Engineering Technology, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes related to PEX piping.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
