Business Development Manager - Cables North America

Job Purpose:

Business development, technical sales and customer service role with the objective of develop relationships within target customers to open doors to new business opportunities and managing the commercial relationship with current customers assigned. Must have a broad understanding of the customer's needs and can creatively leverage Sanmina's internal resources to identify and facilitate solutions for these customers.

Nature of Duties:

  • With the leadership Cables team direction, the candidate will develop and implement the technical sales account penetration strategy to current and potential customers and will develop knowledge to understand the customer's needs and the ability to leverage Sanmina's engineering and manufacturing resources to identify and facilitate solutions for our customers.
  • The candidate will develop strong, positive business relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • The candidate will identify manufacturing opportunities early in the design cycle through customer and manufacturing engineering relationships & will participate in customer design reviews for the cables business
  • The candidate will be closely aligned with the Cables Division leadership team on strategic and financial goals.
  • Co-develop messaging and value proposition materials for strategic opportunities and pursue those that require it until successfully secured.
  • The candidate will attend and actively participate in sales strategies and business reviews and will develop and drive strategic technical plans.
  • The candidate will communicate issues and problems back into the company to drive and assist with resolution.
  • Additional responsibilities will be to own and manage related RFQs and act as prime in ensuring timely response delivery and feed information back into Management in support of developing Business Plans.

Education and Experience:

  • Bacherlor Degree
  • 8 years sales experience in manufacturing with at least 5 years of cables, connector and/or electro-mechanical industry experience.
  • Previous success in commercial roles for companies with best-in-class operations; preferably with key customer relationships in defense, automotive, medical or other sectors that consume large amounts of cables and/or electro-mechanical integration.
  • Highly motivated with entrepreneurial attitude and outlook, strong work ethics with high level of integrity
  • Demonstrable success in developing and winning new accounts and managing existing customers.
  • Significant experience in the cables business is essential, with understanding of costing & pricing.
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and closing skills
  • Experience working with vast remote cross-functional teams in large matrix organizations
  • Project management skills are desired with excellent ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize
  • Overnight travel as required within USA and Mexico

Salary Range for California Only (annual): $110,000 - $130,000
