General Responsibilities:
Do you have a passion for research, technical writing, and environmental science? Terracon is looking for an Environmental Due Diligence Field Scientist to join the team in our Dallas, Fort Worth or Frisco office. Nationally, our firm is a leading provider of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and related Due Diligence services, and we continue to expand these services in the DFW area. As part of our growing Due Diligence team, you will engage with clients to evaluate environmental risks associated with their property transactions and business interests. Services will include Phase I ESAs and related Due Diligence reviews encompassing a wide variety of project types and properties. You will have an opportunity to evaluate environmental risks and educate clients on how they relate to their business interests.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be knowledgeable of the ASTM E 1527-21 process for performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, with a minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably across wide array of property types.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Developing level scientific professional responsible for conducting analyses of component portions of projects; assignments are designed to develop knowledge and abilities.
  • Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
  • Drafts written proposals to clients for small projects and may assist with portions of proposals on larger projects.
  • May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum 1 year related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years' related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
  • Certification in field of expertise.
