As the Director of Operations for the Watlow Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Columbia, Missouri your role is crucial in overseeing the efficient and effective functioning of all manufacturing operations for the site. The Director of Operations is a key member of the Operations Leadership Team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with executive management and plant leadership to enhance safety protocols, streamline production, optimize manufacturing workflows, and refine maintenance and supply chain operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in providing strategic guidance and tactical support to achieve performance objectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives for the site.


Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Develops and implements strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and achieve production targets while aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Continuously identifies areas for improvement in manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflows. Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall operational effectiveness.
  • Establishes and maintains quality control measures to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer requirements. Implement quality assurance protocols and drive a culture of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Determines resource needs and budgets. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track manufacturing performance and productivity. Generate regular reports and provide insights to senior management on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluates new technologies and methodologies to enhance production capabilities and maintain competitiveness.
  • Achievement of Watlow's purpose, vision and strategy and leads cultural transformation
  • Leads others in use of the Watlow Business System (WBS) and sub systems
  • Identifies and pursues activities to reduce product, process, or project costs
  • Builds robust relationships through trust, teamwork and direct style of communication
  • Some travel within US/International may be required (<10%)


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred
  • Technical certification preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Leadership training
  • 10+ years of lean leadership experience preferred

Desired Qualifications:

  • Semiconductor industry experience
  • Change management experience
  • Engineering degree
