Senior Financial Analyst

Summary:

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial analysis and modeling, assisting with preparation of financial plans and budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, preparation of month end reporting including narratives, and various ad hoc reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare financial and operational models and analyze scenarios and results for presentation to management.
  • Prepare and oversee operating budgets, conducting modeling and analysis, including variance and trend analysis.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to management and develop business plans leveraging insights into operational structure and functions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts including coordinating timelines, managing the forecast model and the consolidation process, collaborate cross-functionally to document key assumptions, lead review meetings and complete all required materials for review by senior management.
  • Support annual budget development process including completing various ad-hoc analyses to add insights in to the budget and participate in budget presentation.
  • Participate in the monthly variance analysis process to provide insight into business results compared to forecast and budget to senior leadership.
  • Produce designated management reporting including insightful analysis and commentary to convey key insights and provide a basis for action. Ensure accuracy and completeness by reviewing the work of others.
  • Collect, analyze and present financial information to business partners, identifying risks and opportunities to aid the team in meeting specific organizational goals. Act as a catalyst for change by driving results and playing a strong leadership role in finding solutions and adding value.
  • Provide financial expertise by working on and leading cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are modeled appropriately and that financial ramifications are adequately considered. Act as the primary contact on projects engaging with senior leadership throughout the process.
  • Collect appropriate data as necessary to support the preparation of ad-hoc analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members of the finance team and the business partners that we support. Seek feedback and improve performance to ensure we are driving standards of excellence.

  • Must demonstrate organization and prioritization skills to manage time
  • Experienced professional with high standards of excellence and adherence to deadlines
  • Self-starter able to function effectively in a fast-paced growing company and adapt to change
  • Strong financial modeling ability for utilization in budget and forecasting processes
  • Ability to synthesize various, independently generated data points into a cohesive analysis

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor Degree in Finance or related discipline or equivalent work experience

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant financial analysis experience

Preferred: MBA

Previous experience with corporate performance applications, process improvement and experience in Great Plains software a plus
