Job Description

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine, is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate and Professor level. Applicants must have an M.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, and have satisfactorily completed an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency and an Infectious Diseases fellowship program. Candidates must be awarded or be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified/eligible in Infectious Diseases/HIV.

The primary roles and responsibilities will be to provide patient care on the Infectious Diseases Inpatient and outpatient Consult Services. We are particularly interested in individuals with interests in providing care to those living with HIV or who suffer infectious complications of substance use. Other duties can include sharing attending duties on General Internal Medicine, General Infectious Diseases, HIV and Bone & Joint Consult services. Participation in the teaching and training of medical and physician assistant students, residents and ID fellows is also expected.

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
