As a Field Sales Account Manager for Agilent's chromatography and spectroscopy chemicals and supplies (CSD) products, you are responsible for selling CSD consumable items to end-user customers in your assigned territory, which incorporates the greater Bay Area region, primarily South and East Bay, California. This role incorporates a broad range of account management activities, from customer collaborations to coordinating with local colleagues to provide complete workflow support, to providing technical consultative sales in pharma, biopharma, life science research, materials, and a wide range of applications. As a customer-centric account manager, you support the heart of customer applications and workflows, and you bring high energy and a focus on customer success.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell Agilent chemistries and supplies and analytical consumable items to end-user customers, and partner with sales colleagues on workflow and solution-oriented offerings

  • Lead and generate existing and new sales for assigned named accounts, and partner across the full range of customer buying channels

  • Maintain ongoing long-term relationships with key accounts and industry thought leaders

  • Partner with strategic and enterprise teams in pharma and biopharmaceutical companies

  • Build, monitor, and revise lead generation plans

  • Responsible for meeting quota and sales targets

  • Interpret customer needs and works to meet those needs; identify potential business opportunities, and handle sophisticated leads, opportunities, and projects independently

  • Identify the right workflows and products that support analytical needs, and build a comprehensive territory management plan that integrates all of the components of a customer-centric CSD field sales account manager

  • Embrace continuous learning and improvement to meet emerging needs and evolving customer requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in chemistry, biology, or biochemistry, or equivalent experience required

  • 4+ years of relevant account management and sales experience are required

  • Familiarity with liquid chromatography (HPLC, UHPLC) required

  • Mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS) and gas chromatography (GC, GC-MS) required, ideally both instrumentation and analytical consumables

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical laboratory workflows and applications desired

The US pay range for this full-time position is $170,894.00 - $284,823.00/yr, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position across the relevant US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
