Position: Internal Auditor I

This is an entry-level position in which the incumbent assists with audits of Company financial records and control procedures to ensure the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the systems of control and the quality of ongoing operations, which includes all activities involved in the conduct of business for all Company functional areas including: financial reporting, operations, wealth management, insurance, and information systems. Duties are performed independently with moderate supervision and review.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Assists with routine audit procedures as assigned in all audit areas.
  • Assists with assigned testing for compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Sufficiently documents audit workpapers to support conclusions of audit results.
  • Effectively communicates the audit process and results to both the lead auditor and auditee. Assists in the preparation of internal audit reports based on findings of reviews.
  • Provides support to external auditors in completion of audits.
  • Completes required training associated with job function.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with 2+ years of financial services and/or banking experience.
Skills:
  • High level of organizational skills that allow for detailed documentation of work performed.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to assess operational processes balancing between risk exposure and functional efficiencies.
  • Time management skills and ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity in order to maintain independent judgment and privacy of customer and Bank information.
  • Self-assurance combined with good human relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques including a strong background in accounting procedures.
  • Broad-based knowledge of the banking industry.
